The Advanced Vision Science Foldable Hydrophobic Acrylic IOL is the first foldable hydrophobic acrylic lens proven to be glistening free. The lens was launched in Japan in July 2008 and is marketed by Santen under the brand name Eternity "エタニティー".The lens is developed in several models including the 6mm and 7mm optic body.
A blue-light blocking version of the lens - Eternity-Natural "エタニティー ナチュラル" recieved PMDA approval in 2009. The W-60 6mm single piece lens marketed under the brand name "Eternity Uni" recieved approval in 2011.
